The Weak And The Strong (1999, Rotterdam NL) is a
singer-songwriterproject inspired by the music of Michael Gira, Joy
Division and Velvet Underground.
The Weak And The Strong did
several NL/UK/BE - tours, including radioshows and venues like Paradiso
(A'dam) and Bibelot (Dordrecht), but also small theatres, bars, cafés,
art-exhibitions, livingrooms, etc. and supported bands like De Kift,
Cradle FC (NL), Miss Anthropy (UK) and
Lina Paul (GE). Also The Weak And The Strong reached the finals of
bandbattles 'Grote Prijs van Zuid Holland' and 'Hou Je Kop Luisterpop'.
During live-shows all songs are performed by just a voice and a battered acoustic guitar. Basic, pure, raw and intense.
However,
the various soundscapes and soundtracks are almost all recorded by
electronic devices. Some of them accompany existing and non-existing
documentaries and other filmbased experiments.
